MACC officers again arrive at Komtar today.

GEORGE TOWN: Three officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrived at Komtar on Monday (July 6) morning.

It is believed they were at the third floor of the state administrative building at 9.55am to collect documents in relation to the controversial Penang undersea tunnel project.

State executive councillors Phee Boon Poh and Chong Eng as well as local government committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo are expected to be questioned at the MACC headquarters at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah here.

The official vehicles of Jagdeep and Chong were seen entering MACC compound at 9.25am and 11.25am respectively.

The duo were expected to give their statements on the controversial RM6.3bil Penang undersea tunnel project.

Phee Boon Poh is expected to be at the state MACC headquarters at 2.30pm.

On Friday (July 3), MACC officers visited the offices of state Public Works, Utilities and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari and Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy on the 52nd floor of Komtar.

It was believed that Ramasamy was interviewed by the officers while Zairil was not in the office.

On Wednesday (July 1), Chow said the state government had received a letter from the MACC to interview several state executive councillors and leaders regarding the undersea tunnel issue.

Former Penang Port Commission chairman Jeffrey Chew Gim Eam was previously remanded for four days from July 1 to 4 to facilitate investigations into the case.
