KUALA LUMPUR: CCTV footage of the armed robbery in Brickfields today, where gunmen made off with RM9.7 million worth of jewellery, has been circulating on social media.
The three-minute, eight-second clip has flooded WhatsApp groups and Facebook feeds.
The incident, which took place around 11am along Jalan Tun Sambanthan, saw the suspects making off with 21 trays of gold jewellery weighing about 15kg.
In the 10.48am CCTV clip, a white Nissan Almera is seen pulling up at the curb.
Four masked men sprint out, overpower the guard and storm the premises.

Within minutes, they are seen carrying trays of gold back to the car before speeding off, leaving bystanders in shock.
The audacity of the crime, at one of Kuala Lumpur’s busiest areas on a weekday morning, has sparked a wave of comments online.
While some were stunned by the speed of the operation, many expressed concern over public safety.
“Brickfields is always packed with people and police patrols. To do this at 11am is incredibly bold. I hope everyone is safe,” wrote one Facebook user.
On X, a user commented: “15kg of gold? That’s nearly RM10 million. They must have planned the route perfectly to avoid Jalan Tun Sambanthan traffic.”

Another person shared their anxiety, saying: “I walk this exact road every day for work. It’s terrifying to think that gunmen can strike in such a crowded place in broad daylight. I don’t feel safe walking around Brickfields anymore.”
City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang and armed robbery.
He confirmed the suspects were armed with two pistols and had disarmed the shop’s security guard, taking his shotgun and ammunition before fleeing.
Police are combing through CCTV footage from neighbouring premises to trace the suspects’ escape route.
