Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt finally tie the knot after 6992 days
It’s wedding bells for Academy Award-winning Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, who reportedly married her fiancé, Jean Todt, almost two decades after getting engaged.
According to a series of posts on the Instagram account of Brazilian racing driver Felipe Massa, the pair tied the knot yesterday in Geneva, Switzerland, surrounded by their friends and family.
A card shown in one of Massa’s photos states that French motor racing executive Todt, 77, first met Yeoh, 60, in Shanghai on June 4, 2004.
He proposed on July 26 that year – just slightly over three weeks later, for those who haven’t done the maths – and Yeoh accepted.
And now, their wedding has taken place a mere 6,992 days, or slightly over 19 years, after Todt’s proposal. “We are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!” the card reads.
“Happy marriage #JeanTodt & #michelleyeoh love you so much . ❤️❤️”, Massa wished the couple on Instagram.
Guests reportedly present at the ceremony included Stefano Domenicali, former team principal of Scuderia Ferrari and current CEO of Formula One Group; Luca di Montezemolo, former chairman of Ferrari; and Nicholas Todt, Jean’s son from a previous relationship.
This is the second marriage for Yeoh, who wed businessman Dickson Poon from 1988-1992.
This is certainly turning out to be a year of celebrations for Ipoh-born Yeoh, who in March became the first Malaysian and first Asian to win the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
Todt, meanwhile, served as chief executive officer of Ferrari from 2004 to 2008, and was the ninth president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) from 2009 to 2021. FMT
