IPOH – Police have found no involvement of any other parties in the deaths of two 14-year-old schoolgirls at the Sungai Pari Flats area near Buntong on Friday.

Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said initial investigations also found that both victims were believed to have voluntarily left the school area before the incident.

He said police received a report regarding the discovery of both victims unconscious at the scene.

“Both victims were later confirmed dead.

“So far, investigations have found no evidence indicating the involvement of any other party in the incident,” he said in a statement here.

The incident at Sungai Pari Flats was discovered by a security guard who happened to be conducting his routine patrol before informing the authorities.

It was previously reported that in the incident at around 4.50pm, two schoolgirls were found dead after they were believed to have fallen from the upper floor of an abandoned residential building near Buntong.

The two victims, who were close friends, were said to be studying at the same school in Ipoh and attended the afternoon session.

“The public is advised to respect the privacy of the families, refrain from making any speculation, or spreading unverified information that could disrupt the investigation,” he said.

He added that members of the public with any information related to the incident are urged to contact the Ipoh District Police Operations Room at 05-2451500 or come forward at any nearby police station to assist with investigations.
