Johor Pakatan’s foundation ‘shaky’, claims Pasir Gudang MP

Former state PKR chief Hassan Abdul Karim has claimed Johor Pakatan Harapan’s foundation is “shaky”.

The Pasir Gudang MP said Pakatan in Johor was build based upon uniting four political parties, which are PKR, DAP, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

“The close cooperation between these parties within Johor Pakatan had led to its victory where we won 18 parliamentary seats and were able to defeat state Barisan Nasional and form a new government in Johor.

“Now, state Pakatan is not as strong as before in its cooperation where no meetings have been held and the convention is not like before when we came into power where everyone is bringing their own personal matters,” he added.

He said this in a post on his Facebook page on Monday (Sept 9).

Hassan, who is a lawyer by profession, said his concern over the matter was sincere, as he loved Johor Pakatan as he had a share in building it.

In July, Hassan submitted his resignation as state party chief to party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He is believed to have resigned over issues with party members and the Johor palace.

The lawmaker had originally turned down his appointment in December.

This came after Nurul Izzah Anwar resigned as PKR vice-president and relinquished her appointment as Penang PKR chairman.

According to earlier reports, Hassan had said that since his appointment had been disputed, it was only appropriate that he resigned from the post.

However, he reversed his decision and took up the state leadership before stepping down a few months later.
