361 Covid-19 deaths, 102 BID

Malaysia recorded 361 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours with 102 Brought-in-Dead (BID) cases.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fatalities comprised 301 Malaysians and 60 foreigners. BID cases involved 71 locals and 31 foreigners.



“A total of 261 deaths involved those with underlying illnesses. From the total, 191 were male and 170 female,” he said, adding the country’s death toll now rose to 19,163.

Dr Noor Hisham said Selangor again recorded the highest number of fatalities today with 67 cases.

Other states with two-digit fatalities were Johor with 65, followed by Sabah (54), Kedah (51), Kuala Lumpur (34), Negeri Sembilan (29), Kelantan (17), and Sarawak (10).

Terengganu recorded nine deaths, followed by Melaka (8), Perak (6), Penang (5), Pahang (4), and Perlis (2).



Dr Noor Hisham also said the country’s R-naught (Rt) value maintains at 0.95 as of Tuesday (Sept 7).

“Sarawak reported the highest Rt value at 1.18 followed by Johor and Terengganu (1.09), Perak (1.03), Penang and Kelantan (1.02), Pahang and Perlis (1.01).

Kedah’s Rt was 0.98, Sabah (0.97), Putrajaya (0.95), Melaka (0.92), Selangor (0.88), Kuala Lumpur and Negri Sembilan (0.81).

Labuan’s Rt value, meanwhile, was nil. Nst
