KOTA BHARU: Two Indonesian women were killed after the SUV they were travelling in with four others crashed into a surau in Pasir Puteh early this morning.
Pasir Puteh fire and rescue station chief Azhar Helmi Mustofar said the department received an emergency call at about 6.35am and sent 13 personnel from two stations to the scene.
“There were six victims in the vehicle, all Indonesians.
“Two women seated at the rear were confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head and body injuries after being trapped. They were in their 30s and 50s,” Azhar told Bernama.
He said the team used specialised equipment to extricate the two trapped victims before their bodies were handed over to the police for further action.

The injured were sent to Tengku Anis Hospital in Pasir Puteh for treatment.
Upon arrival at SK Bukit Jawa 2 on Jalan Selising-Bukit Merbau, the firefighters found that an SUV had crashed into a surau after it lost control and skidded off the road.
