Police: Kancil driver seen driving erratically before fatal crash wasn’t drunk

BATU PAHAT: A Perodua Kancil driver captured on video driving erratically before a fatal crash here yesterday was not drunk, but suffered from a medical condition.
Batu Pahat police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said investigations into yesterday afternoon’s crash in Semerah revealed the 72-year-old driver was not under the influence.
“The nature of his medical condition has yet to be confirmed,” he said, adding that the female driver of the other vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, was injured.
Earlier, a one-minute-52-second dashcam video went viral showing the Kancil being driven erratically before colliding with another car.
Meanwhile, a man believed to be the driver’s son said his father may have suffered from hypoglycemia due to a drop in blood sugar levels.
