Minor earthquakes reported in Sabah, Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR: Two minor earthquakes were reported in Sabah and Sarawak on Tuesday, measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale.

MetMalaysia said in a statement today that the first earthquake, at a depth of 10km, occurred in Ranau, Sabah, at 10.36am.

Tremors were felt in several areas around Kundasang, Ranau and Kota Belud.

At 10.33pm, an earthquake of the same magnitude struck at a depth of 10km in Mambong, Sarawak.

Tremors were felt in several areas around Samarahan and Serian in Sarawak.

MeTMalaysia added that it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates from time to time.
