MH8110 lands in Oman after technical issue; all 278 pilgrims safe – TH

KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 278 Malaysian pilgrims landed at Muscat International Airport in Oman this afternoon after experiencing a technical issue, Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) said in a statement today.

TH confirmed that all pilgrims on board KT051 (MH8110) are safe, adding that there is no cause for concern among family members.

The flight had departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 2.06pm (Malaysian time) on Monday and was originally scheduled to arrive in Jeddah at about 5.50pm the same day.

However, it diverted to Muscat at 4.11pm local time as a precautionary measure following a technical issue involving the aircraft.

The carrier, AMAL by Malaysia Airlines, will conduct a full technical assessment of the aircraft before deciding on the next course of action.
