PUTRAJAYA: PAS Youth plans to file multiple police reports against the government for allegedly keeping under wraps a supplementary decree purportedly allowing Najib Razak to serve his jail term under house arrest.

PAS Youth information chief Khairul Nadzir Helmi Azhar said they will also hold a large-scale rally against the government over the issue, but did not share further details.

This follows the Court of Appeal granting Najib leave to begin judicial review proceedings to compel Putrajaya to execute the supplementary decree.

Khairul cited a letter purportedly from the comptroller of the royal household of the Sultan of Pahang, produced by lawyer Shafee Abdullah in court, which confirmed the existence of the addendum order and verified its authenticity.

He said this letter proved that the addendum order was not a mere rumour but a genuine supplementary decree issued by the then king.

“PAS Youth will mobilise its machinery at the state level to file police reports today against any party trying to keep the supplementary decree under wraps.

“We urge the authorities to investigate further so we can identify who’s the real traitor,” he told reporters outside the Palace of Justice here.

In a split decision this afternoon, the Court of Appeal granted Najib leave to begin judicial review proceedings to compel the government to execute the supplementary decree issued by the former king.

The Court of Appeal also allowed Najib’s application to adduce new evidence when the merits of the case are heard in the High Court and for the judicial review to be heard before a new judge.

Separately, Bersatu Youth said it was ready to work with other youth wings of political parties to push for those responsible to be brought to justice for ignoring the sultan’s purported decree.

Its head, Hilman Idham, said Bersatu Youth respected the rights of all inmates to be granted a full pardon or a reduction of their sentence based on constitutional provisions.

In a separate statement, opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin said “certain parties” had deliberately tried to conceal the addendum order, and that it was “impossible” for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim not to be aware of it.

The Bersatu deputy president said Anwar, as the prime minister, is bound by an oath of allegiance to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Federal Constitution, and any refusal to carry out the addendum order amounted to treason.
