TMJ to meet teachers who reject vaccine on Friday

JOHOR BARU: Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim will be meeting with teachers who rejected the Covid-19 vaccine on Friday.

In a posting on his Facebook page, Tunku Ismail said the meeting with the state Education director and teachers will be held at the Sultan Ibrahim Building in Bukit Timbalan here.

“Also present at the meeting this Friday will be Johor Mufti (Datuk Yahya Ahmad) and State Secretary (Datuk Azmi Rohani),” said Tunku Ismail.

He said the meeting was being held to ensure the rakyat’s health, safety and well-being were always protected.

On Sunday, State Education, Information, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman Mazlan Bujang revealed that a total of 779 teachers in Johor had declined to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

He said the state Education Department would help to give clarification about the vaccine to this group so that they would understand the advantage of the vaccine and would want to be vaccinated.

Following the revelation, Tunku Ismail said he would meet with the state Education director and the teachers to help resolve the issue.

In a tweet on his Twitter account, Tunku Ismail said the meeting will be held soon.

“Our main focus is to overcome the pandemic so that the people and the state can return to normal.

“Insya-Allah, we will be able to resolve this issue,” said Tunku Ismail. Nst
