Students arrested after teen, father injured in brawl outside school

Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the incident, captured in a viral video, occurred on the afternoon of July 3 as the victim walked towards his father’s motorcycle.

“Several schoolmates called the victim over before surrounding and beating him,” Farid said in a statement.

The victim suffered injuries to his lips and knees, alongside bruises and body aches.

His father, who tried to intervene, was assaulted, knocked to the ground, and sustained injuries to his hands and legs.

The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both

It is also being probed under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities, which provides for a fine of up to RM500,000, a maximum two-year jail term, or both.
