Pahang Sultan calls on all parties to develop idle land productively

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has called on all parties to identify and develop idle land productively to stimulate economic growth and strengthen food security.
The Sultan decreed that the effort should involve both private- and government-owned land, with priority given to sectors that have the potential to generate revenue and benefit the people, such as oil palm, rubber, coconut, padi, fruits and high-value crops.

“We are fortunate because the state of Pahang has an area of approximately 3.6 million hectares of land. How unfortunate it would be if a large portion of the land in the state remains uncultivated,” according to a Facebook post by the Pahang Sultanate.
In the post, the Pahang Sultan mentioned this when attending a briefing on land management and development in the state at the Pahang State Land and Mines Director’s Office.
Meanwhile, Al-Sultan Abdullah decreed that the granting of land ownership will only be beneficial if the owner develops the land in question and fulfils all responsibilities, including paying the relevant taxes.

“Therefore, study this thoroughly so that the implemented solution benefits both parties, namely the state government and the people. Every inch of land we possess has the potential to be cultivated,” stated the post. — BERNAMA
