Probe paper on intimidation case involving minister’s son sent to DPP

PETALING JAYA: Police have completed their investigation into a criminal intimidation case involving the son of a minister and a woman, which recently went viral on social media.

Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the investigation paper had been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor on Monday following a report lodged on Jan 1.

“This shows the police do not compromise or protect anyone involved in wrongdoing,” Sinar Harian quoted him as saying.

Razarudin said statements have been recorded from all parties involved in the case.

“At this stage, the deputy public prosecutor has directed the investigators to obtain a medical report on the woman who was allegedly threatened by the minister’s son,” he said.

He also said the preliminary investigation showed that the minister’s son is married to the woman.

“We are awaiting confirmation of their marriage certificate to support the ongoing investigation,” he said.

Razarudin said no one, including ministers or their family members, will be shielded from legal action.

“The investigation will be transparent, and those found guilty will be brought to justice,” he said.

The incident was reportedly detailed in a police report shared on a Telegram channel. It alleged that the minister’s son had threatened a pregnant woman.
