Teacher arrested after allegedly assaulting student, slapping mother in Pasir Mas
KOTA BARU: A male schoolteacher has been arrested in Pasir Mas after allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old student and slapping the boy’s mother in separate incidents, according to police.
Pasir Mas OCPD Asst Comm Mazlan Hassan confirmed that the 54-year-old suspect was detained on Wednesday (Aug 12) after receiving a formal complaint from the victim’s 42-year-old mother earlier that day.
He said the incident involving the student occurred at a secondary school on Aug 11.
“The boy’s mother went to speak with the teacher the next day (Aug 12) about the assault, only for him to allegedly slap her as well.

“He was taken into custody as soon as the report was made and will be held for three days until Aug 15 to assist with police inquiries,” he told Bernama on Thursday (Aug 13).
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using weapons or dangerous means. — Bernama
