PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh said Hassan Karim’s grievances will be addressed internally.

PETALING JAYA: PKR’s top leaders had issues with Hassan Karim’s public criticisms of the government, party secretary-general Fuziah Salleh revealed.

Fuziah said complaints were made by members of PKR’s central leadership council.

“I have forwarded the complaints to the disciplinary board, so the matter can be investigated and his grievances can be discussed internally,” she told FMT.

Earlier, FMT reported that the outspoken Pasir Gudang MP was summoned by the party’s disciplinary board over his public criticisms of the government, including the decision to award the rollout of the second 5G network to U Mobile.

According to a source in the know, Hassan was accused of smearing PKR’s image following his actions.

The source also said Hassan, who has been critical of the government’s decision in the rollout of the second 5G network, had been accused by the party of insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Hassan had in a social media post accused the government of repeating the mistakes made by the previous administrations, especially during Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s first stint as prime minister.

He also said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s administration is now tainted by the re-emergence of crony capitalists.

Last month, Fuziah urged Hassan to raise his concerns through internal party channels instead of making public statements.

Earlier this year, Hassan said he was ready to face disciplinary action if the party took exception to his outspoken views on various issues.

However, Fuziah said none was pending, adding that she was focused on promoting dialogue and ensuring internal channels were properly utilised before issues were vented in public.

Later, when contacted, Hassan told FMT to refer any enquiries of his meeting with the disciplinary board to its chairman, Tan Yee Kew.
