BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport open for order in Malaysia

First unveiled at NEXTGen Malaysia in January this year, the BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport is finally available for order locally.

Utilizing a classic rear-wheel drive layout, the electric vehicle’s (EV) synchronous motor generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp and a peak torque of 430 Nm, which allows for a century sprint time of just 5.7 seconds.

It has an electric range of 590 km (based on the WLTP cycle) while its fifth-generation BMW eDrive system is compatible with the latest charging technology.

Its Combined Charging Unit (CCU) with built-in 4 kW voltage transformer has been designed to enable extremely flexible battery charging – compatible with a domestic power socket or a BMW i Wallbox (an 11-kW AC charger fully charges the vehicle in just 8 hours 15 minutes), as well as DC fast chargers (a 200-kW DC charger charges the vehicle from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 31 minutes).

As far as aesthetics go the fully-electric Gran Coupé is equipped with the M Sport package: M Aerodynamics exterior, BMW Laserlights with Automatic High-beam Control, 19-inch M Aerodynamic Wheels 860 M Bicolour with staggered widths, M Sport brakes, as well as M High-gloss Shadow Line.

Cabin is furnished with the Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite Interior Trim, M Anthracite Headliner, M Leather Steering Wheel and an instrument panel in Sensatec. Functional features for comfort include variable sports steering, electric seat adjuster with memory function, the Interior and Exterior Mirror Package, as well as automatic air conditioning.

Other features include automatic tailgate operation, comfort access system, through-load system, and the Storage Compartment Package.

As standard the car is equipped with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, BMW ConnectedDrive Services, BMW Connected Package Professional I, Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, Smartphone Integration, 17-speaker Harman Kardon surround system, as well as storage for wireless charging.

Safety systems include Acoustic Protection for Pedestrians, Active Protection for Pedestrians, Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant Plus and Active Protection.

The BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport with extended warranty and service package is priced at RM 389,800 (on the road, without insurance).

Available exterior colours includes Black Sapphire, Mineral White and Dravit Grey in its first selection, with additional exterior colours of Sanremo Green, M Portimao Blue and M Brooklyn Grey (which will replace Dravit Grey later in the year). Interior upholstering is available in Black, Mocha and Tacora Red Leather Vernasca.

The car be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM 4,306.00 (based on estimates of an 80 per cnet loan on a five-year tenure) through the Easy Drive Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia. Nst
