TGV Cinemas is set to welcome fully vaccinated moviegoers on Sept 23.
Its sales and marketing general manager Mohit Bhargava said the primary focus with the reopening is on the safety and security of the moviegoers and staff.
“We are taking every necessary precautionary measure and will not rush into reopening. We will ensure compliance with all the standard operating procedures (SOP),” he said in a statement.
Mohit added that TGV has also received the updated movie lineups from its studio partners, with Hollywood titles that will only be ready for cinemas to exhibit from Sept 23.
“Cinemagoers can expect an exciting lineup of major releases in conjunction with TGV’s reopening including Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson, Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne Johnson, Daniel Craig in No Time To Die, and many more this month,” he said in a statement.
Among the new entry SOP are that only fully vaccinated individuals (guests and staff) aged 18 and above are eligible to enter the cinema premises.
“These individuals, however, must be able to produce their digital vaccination certificate as proof when requested.”
Mohit said TGV will also be operating at reduced seating capacity to allow for proper one-metre social distancing in halls.
“Guests are only allowed to purchase seats according to the layout as set on our website and app. Paired seating is permitted for family members and/or members of the same household.”
Mohit said other enhanced safety measures include the sales of ticket that will be made via the TGV website, app, and concession kiosks, with online transactions and cashless payment modes being encouraged.
“We will also have a staggered scheduling of movie sessions to minimise crowd formation in common areas, along with alternate restroom facilities.”
Mohit said sanitisation will be held regularly at common touchpoints, extended cleaning of auditoriums after each movie, and hand sanitising stations readily available in all common areas
“Moviegoers can rest assured that the working staff are fully vaccinated and will wear masks at all times.
“Food and beverages are prepared hygienically with food handlers using gloves and following all mandated safety protocols
“Furthermore, the staff will go through daily health screening, practice safety procedures and wash their hands frequently.”
Mohit said detailed SOP will be made available on the website, in conjunction with the announcement of ticket sales very soon.
“We cannot wait to welcome you back to the movies.”
TGV presently operates a national network of multiplexes with 37 locations and 295 screens nationwide. Nst
