KLANG: The situation outside the Sessions Court here remained quiet this morning as a 24-year-old man linked to the death of a dog named Rocky was expected to be charged today.

Additional police personnel were deployed at the court entrance, with security checks conducted on those entering the premises.

One of the gates was locked, prompting visitors to drive to the security checkpoint before entering the court complex.

Several police personnel were also seen entering the court complex.

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar had advised the public against holding rallies or demonstrations over the death of Rocky during an enforcement operation in Port Klang last month.

He said police had completed their investigation and identified those responsible, with charges expected to be brought at the magistrate’s court today.

The accused, Muhammad Shah Hizam, had been served a summons by a Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) officer to appear in court at 9am.

Shah came under public scrutiny following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing several individuals restraining and pulling Rocky by the neck during an operation at Taman Telok Gedong Indah on July 29.

Besides Shah, a woman linked to the incident will face charges at two separate courts.

Both will appear before Sessions Court judge Mujib Saroji, while the woman will also face additional charges before magistrate A. Karthiyayini.
