Negri Sembilan polls: PN and BN manifestos share similarities, says Tuan Ibrahim

SEREMBAN: Perikatan Nasional’s manifesto for the Negri Sembilan election, which will be launched tomorrow, shares many similarities with Barisan Nasional’s manifesto.

PN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the similarities reflected the shared aspirations of both coalitions to move Negri Sembilan forward.

“Based on the manifesto presented earlier, I see very little difference. PN will also unveil its manifesto tomorrow night, and I find that the contents are largely similar, reflecting our shared aspiration to move Negri Sembilan forward.

“Hopefully, we will succeed in realising those aspirations,” he said after the launch of BN’s manifesto tonight.

Tuan Ibrahim, who is also Pas deputy president, said he was representing PN in expressing the coalition’s support for the manifesto unveiled by BN.

“We believe this political understanding with BN will produce positive results.

“I see a common desire for us to complement one another and work together towards achieving our goals.

“If we are given the mandate, we will be able to translate these aspirations into action as effectively as possible,” he said.

For the Negri Sembilan election, BN and PN have formed an electoral pact, with BN contesting 25 seats and PN contesting the remaining 11 of the total 36 seats.

Earlier, BN unveiled its manifesto for the Negri Sembilan election, built around nine thrusts, 88 action plans and 15 initiatives under the Salam Sejahtera Scheme.

BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the manifesto, themed Hebatkan Semula Negri Sembilan: Kestabilan Dibina, Negeri Dijaga, Rakyat Dibela, Kemakmuran Dicipta, was formulated based on the coalition’s experience in developing both the state and the nation.
