Pahang Bersatu to seek Roslan’s explanation after party elections

PETALING JAYA: Pahang Bersatu will wait until the party elections are concluded before seeking an explanation from Roslan Hassan who quit the party yesterday, on the eve of the polls.

Pahang Bersatu’s deputy chief, Yazid Yunus, said he had learnt of Roslan’s exit from the party through media reports. “We will call Roslan to explain himself further,” he said.

When contacted, Roslan told FMT that he is sticking with his decision to leave Bersatu and said he had no intention of joining any other party.

Last night, Roslan, who was the Pahang Bersatu treasurer, led a group of 40 members to quit the party. Roslan said the group had lost confidence in Bersatu’s top leadership and accused them of being in disarray, dishonest and untrustworthy.

He said the party has not provided a proper reason for suspending Bentong Bersatu in September. Roslan, then head of the division, said he suspected that the divisional committee was suspended because he voiced disagreement with several amendments presented at Bersatu’s convention in July.
