Have faith in the civil service, Hadi told

PETALING JAYA: Have faith in the civil service, Hadi told. The government should not have any doubt that civil servants will remain professional in their work, regardless of which political party is in power, Cuepacs said today.

In a statement, Adnan Mat, the president of the umbrella body for civil services unions, gave an assurance that the civil servants are impartial when implementing directives from Putrajaya.

“History has proven that civil servants have no problem in carrying out their responsibilities despite the change in government after the 14th general election and again last year,” he said.

Adnan Mat was commenting on PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s call to civil servants to resign if they are uncomfortable with the fact that the current government is not from the political party they support.

Adnan said such a statement gives the impression that civil servants cannot be trusted to carry out their duties professionally.

He also pointed out that they have remained loyal and committed to assisting the government in facing the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Cuepacs hopes there will be no more allegations or perception that civil servants do not support or are out to sabotage the government.

“It is the civil servants who are helping to implement all policies introduced by the government in developing the country and for the well-being of the people.”
