#PrkKimanis: Najib pooh-poohs Ilham Centre’s prediction that Warisan would win comfortably

Datuk Seri Najib Razak has dismissed research firm Ilham Centre’s prediction that Warisan will comfortably win the Kimanis parliamentary by-election on Saturday (Jan 18).

“Like in the Tg Piai by-election, there was also research saying that Pakatan Harapan would win, but the results proved otherwise. Barisan won with a huge majority, ” said the former prime minister, who is in Kimanis to help with the Barisan Nasional campaign

He said this was why they did not heed such information.

Najib added that Barisan would be making sure that their election machinery worked as hard as they could until the very end.

“We cannot stop now, ” he said.

He also cautioned voters in Kimanis over the proposed implementation of the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS), saying that it would pose security threats in Sabah.

According to Najib, the PSS would make it easier for illegal immigrants to enter Sabah and in future, the children of PSS holders would become voters and native Sabahans’s rights would be at stake.

Meanwhile, Barisan candidate Datuk Mohamad Alamin of Umno said he would be making use of the next 10 hours of campaigning to garner support.

He said he had done his best, and the response from the people he met had been positive.

“What I can do to convince voters to support us and get their trust, I have done, ” he said.

“I will be visiting as many people as possible until the very last minute, ” Mohamad said after visiting villagers in Batu 6.

He said he would leave it to the people to choose who they wanted to represent them in Parliament.
