6 severely injured after Penang ferry collides with another vessel
GEORGE TOWN: A Penang ferry has collided with another unidentified vessel today, the Penang fire and rescue department said.
In a statement, the department said that the collision involved 92 victims, with six of them severely injured and taken to the hospital.
“The situation at the terminal is under control, with the injured victims having been taken to hospital while the other passengers have left the location,” said the department.
This is the first reported collision involving the catamaran ferry service since it commenced operations in August 2023.
