Fahmi Reza released, back in KL
Graphic artist and activist Fahmi Reza said he is being investigated for sedition, improper use of network facilities and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

PETALING JAYA: Graphic artist and activist Fahmi Reza was released yesterday after he was arrested by Sabah police to assist in an investigation into one of his satirical works.

Penampang police chief Sammy Newton said Fahmi, who was remanded for one day, was released on police bail at 5.30pm and returned to Kuala Lumpur last night, Sinar Harian reported.

Sabah police chief Jauteh Dikun yesterday confirmed that Fahmi was arrested in Penampang and he is being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948.

Prior to his arrest, Fahmi said in a post on X that he was on his way to the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters to be questioned over his latest graphic, which had been turned into a mural in Kota Kinabalu.

He said he is being investigated for sedition, improper use of network facilities and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
