Girl molested by unknown man on motorcycle

BUTTERWORTH: A Form Two student who was on her way back home after buying burger in Taman Desa Murni here had her breast groped by an unknown man last night.

In the 9pm incident, the 14-year-old was on her way home on a motorcycle when she was tailed by the man.

Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said when the victim approached the Taman Desa Murni traffic lights, the suspect stopped beside her and looked at her.

“Afraid, the victim had stopped at the nearby pasar malam site, allowing the suspect to go ahead first.

“Several minutes later, the victim got on her motorcycle to ride home. When she reached Lorong Sungai Dua Utama 15 in Taman Sungai Dua Utama, the suspect came from behind and groped her breast.

“Shocked, the victim shouted and the suspect fled. She, however, managed to record his motorcycle registration plate,” he said.

Noorzainy said the victim then related the incident to her father, and coincidentally, the latter stumbled upon the suspect in front of a tyre shop in Lorong Sungai Dua Utama 1, Taman Sungai Dua Utama.

The father then proceeded to contact the police.

“Policemen, who arrived at the scene, nabbed the suspect, who was handed over by members of the public.

“The 40-year-old suspect was then taken to the district police headquarters along with his motorcycle for further investigations,” he said.

The case is investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a person. Nst
