PN, BN Manifesto Soon As New Political Alignment Takes Shape, Says Wan Saiful

Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) vice-president Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan says Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) will soon unveil a joint manifesto for the Negeri Sembilan state election, signalling a united front for the new political alignment.

He said the coalition partners are finalising discussions on policy commitments before making the announcement, stressing that voters can expect concrete policies instead of what he described as the “empty promises” offered by Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“Negeri Sembilan is the first step in building a new political alignment for Malaysia. Wawasan is offering fresh faces for voters to choose from.

“We will announce our proposals once discussions with our partners in this new alignment are concluded. What is certain is that we will present policies that will be implemented, not empty promises like Pakatan Harapan,” he told TRP.

Wan Saiful expressed confidence that the new partnership would strengthen Wawasan’s political future and pave the way for a state government that prioritises the people’s welfare.

“God willing, we will form a government that genuinely helps the people, develops the state’s economy, and respects Negeri Sembilan’s unique customs and traditions,” he said.

On seat distribution, Wan Saiful said Wawasan is not limiting itself to any particular demographic and intends to defend constituencies currently held by its representatives.

He added that Wawasan is positioning itself as a party committed to bridging Malaysia’s political divide by fostering cooperation between Malay- and non-Malay-based parties.

“The most important thing is that Wawasan is positioning itself as a party committed to uniting Malay and non-Malay political forces. We are prepared to serve as the bridge. We are open to negotiations as long as the principle of unity remains intact,” he said.

Wan Saiful was commenting on the seats allocation for the Bersatu’s splinter party in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan polls, slated for 1 Aug.

The newly revamped party and component of PN is set to contest in four seats in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election – Klawang, Sikamat, Mambau and Gemas.

In its election debut, Wawasan will go up against PH and their old friend Bersatu, which is entering the election solo, despite still officially being a PN component party.

An interesting seat to watch is Sikamat as Wawasan is fielding former Melaka police deputy chief Datul Razali Abu Samah against Bersatu’s outspoken Information Chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.
