PETALING JAYA: Police are tracking down the drivers of a Toyota Vios and a Hilux involved in a high-speed chase in the early hours of Friday morning.
Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said a Toyota Vios and a Hilux were seen being driven suspiciously at a roundabout in Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur at about 3.10am.
When a police patrol car attempted to approach, both vehicles sped off, crashing into a road divider before driving against traffic from the Batu 9 toll plaza to the Batu 11 Cheras toll plaza.
The Toyota was eventually stopped at a roadblock in Kampung Sungai Ramal at about 4.18am. “However, the driver fled into the darkness,” Azam said in a statement.
The vehicle was found to have a fake registration number. What appeared to be a pistol was recovered from the car but was later confirmed to be a toy gun.
