Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has appointed Amrin Awaluddin as its group chief executive officer and managing director from May 6 after his predecessor, Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff, steps down.
TH said the decision was made in consultation with minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of religious affairs Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.
In a statement today, TH chairman Md Nor Yusof welcomed Amrin’s appointment and expressed confidence he will be able to elevate the company.
He also thanked Nik Hasyudeen for his contributions since joining TH in September 2019, and for furthering it as an Islamic institution respected for strong performance and governance.
Amrin has several years of senior corporate experience, having held CEO positions at Natseven TV Sdn Bhd (NTV7), Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Bhd, Media Prima Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, Boustead Holdings Bhd and Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT), which he joined in January.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Acadia University, Canada, and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) with honours from the University of Hull, England.
Amrin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, and a chartered accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. FMT
