Akmal demands apology from netizen over ‘stolen money’ allegation

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Mohamad Akmal Saleh has demanded a public apology from an individual over an allegation that he had stolen money and used it to help the people.
Dr Akmal said he could accept criticism but described the allegation as an insult to his character.
“I can accept any criticism. But accusing me of stealing and using stolen money to help others is an insult to me,” he said in a Facebook post.
He demanded that the individual issue a public apology within two hours of his post being published.
Dr Akmal said differences of opinion were acceptable but maintained that making allegations and insulting efforts to provide assistance to the people could not be tolerated.
“If there is no apology, we will meet in court,” he said.
