Negeri Sembilan exco members barred from Wisma Negeri, says MB

SHAH ALAM – Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said the state executive council (exco) members had been barred from entering Wisma Negeri since yesterday under a verbal directive from “the authorities”. He said they had also been told not to hold meetings or carry out their official duties.

He said the directive has been in force since yesterday, preventing the exco members from performing their functions despite there being no court order.

“I was informed that the exco members are not allowed to enter Wisma Negeri, cannot carry out their functions as exco and cannot hold exco meetings.

“I feel this is not appropriate because there is no court order,” he told a press conference today.

Ismail, who himself has not been prevented from entering Wisma Negeri, declined to identify the authority responsible for issuing the directive.

He maintained that his exco line-up remained valid despite the directive, which he said had affected the members’ ability to carry out their duties.
