SHAH ALAM: Newly appointed DAP chairman Gobind Singh Deo has called on today’s elected central executive committee (CEC) members to move forward and work hard to strengthen the party.
Gobind, the digital minister, said DAP had its work cut out to carry out its responsibilities and fulfil the people’s expectations, particularly given its role in both the federal government and several state governments.
“For DAP, as part of both the federal and state governments, there is much to be done to strengthen the party.
“This will be my focus moving forward. Let us continue working hard to deliver what the people expect from us. Let’s move forward,” he said, while thanking the party delegates for electing him.
The Damansara MP also acknowledged that his new position as chairman, previously held by party veteran Lim Guan Eng, meant taking on big responsibilities.

“I have told the new (CEC) team that we must look ahead so that we can work together to strengthen the party and shape a brighter future for DAP,” he told reporters here tonight.
Earlier today, Gobind secured the top spot in the election of DAP’s 2025-2028 CEC with 2,785 votes.
His strong performance in the national party elections comes after he failed to gain a place on the 15-member Selangor DAP committee in November, when he finished 16th after receiving just 675 votes.
