Sungai Golok attackers wore niqabs to hide identities, says deputy mayor

PETALING JAYA: The group that attacked the Sungai Golok district office in Thailand yesterday wore niqabs to avoid being identified, says Sungai Golok deputy mayor Aphichet Jeh-Ouma.
He said this was observed in CCTV footage, which showed over 10 armed assailants arriving in a pickup truck and car, Berita Harian reported.
“They then drove the car into the office before leaving the area in the pickup truck. Not long after, an explosion occurred in the building leaving 12 people injured,” Aphichet said.
It was reported yesterday that eight people were injured and two Thai security personnel were killed in the 7.10pm attack on a security control post at the Sungai Golok district office.
The two who died were Sabri Nasawan and Todsapon Paipim.
