GEORGE TOWN: A 25-year-old motorcyclist was arrested for allegedly hurling verbal abuses at a traffic policeman for issuing him with a summons.

Acting Northeast police chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake said the man was picked up in Taman Terubong Jaya, Air Itam here about 10.30pm yesterday.

He said police came across a video footage on WhatsApp this evening, showing a motorcyclist scolding a traffic policeman with vulgarities due to dissatisfaction after being issued with a summons.

“We can confirm that a police report has been lodged by the traffic policeman yesterday.

“The case is being probed under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
