Seremban Umno Youth severs ties with MCA.
PETALING JAYA: Seremban Umno Youth has severed ties with Negeri Sembilan MCA and Seremban MCA.
“In light of the continued provocation in local Chinese language newspapers, Seremban Umno Youth has decided not to cooperate with Negeri Sembilan MCA and Seremban MCA or organise any programmes or ceremonies with them,” Seremban Umno Youth chief Zool Amali Hussin said in a statement today.
“This decision is effective immediately.”

Zool said Seremban Umno Youth takes a serious view of the issues raised by MCA in Chinese-language newspapers.
He added that the youth wing’s position on the matter proves that it was serious about contesting the Seremban parliamentary seat at the next general election.
Zool confirmed the legitimacy of the statement when contacted by FMT.
On Sunday, Zool said Umno was sure it would do well in the contest as Malays made up 53% of voters in the constituency.
He justified the party’s position, saying it was because MCA failed to regain the seat since losing it in 2008.
Two days later, Negri Sembilan MCA chief Siow Koi Voon said the party also wants to contest the seat in the next general election (GE15) but will leave it to Barisan Nasional (BN) to decide.
DAP’s Loke Siew Fook is the current Seremban MP, having first won the seat in the 2013 general election (GE13) and retaining it in the 2018 general election (GE14).
In GE14, Loke garnered 55,503 votes to defeat BN-MCA’s Chong Sin Woon (24,809 votes) with a majority of 30,694 votes. PAS’ Shariffudin Ahmad obtained 11,506 votes.
