No appointment no shot says Covid task force

PETALING JAYA: Anyone waiting outside the special vaccination centres (PPV), including those providing the AstraZeneca shots, with hopes to be vaccinated will have to go away disappointed.

Vaccines will not be given to walk-ins, the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) has said.

“We would like to urge the public against going to these centres if they have not made an appointment.

“There is no need to loiter around the centres,” it said in a statement, saying there were those who were hoping to take the place of individuals who missed their vaccine appointments.

CITF said it had developed a mechanism to prevent any wastage and logistical issues.

It is also meant to prevent crowds in light of the recent surge of Covid-19 cases.

All PPVs, it added, have a list of individuals who will be contacted to check if they were still interested in being vaccinated and if they could turn up for their shots.

As for PPVs providing the AstraZeneca vaccines, those who had booked their slots will be notified when their turn comes up.
