Blaze damages four factories in Balakong
CHERAS: Four factories were damaged in a fire at Taman Cheras Jaya near Balakong here last night.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a report on the incident at 9.24pm.
He said fire engines and personnel from the Bandar Tun Hussin Onn Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the location for further action.
“The fire involved four factories and was successfully contained from spreading at 10.18pm. The factories were damaged by 50 per cent, 80 per cent, 90 per cent and 100 per cent respectively.
“Firefighting operations are still ongoing at three of the factories and the drone unit is also on its way to the scene to assist with operations,” he said in a statement.

He said the operation also involved assistance from the Seri Kembangan, Kajang, Jalan Hang Tuah, Cheras, Bangi and Petaling Jaya fire and rescue stations, as well as the Serdang Volunteer Fire and Rescue Team and police.
