Aaron-Khai Xing bow out in Swiss Open quarters

PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles pair Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing campaign in the Swiss Open has ended in the quarter-finals after losing to Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard.

A series of errors at crucial moments proved costly as the world No. 27 pair went down 19-21, 15-21 in 37 minutes on Friday (March 13).

Aaron-Khai Xing had been in fine form after upsetting several top pairs in the tournament and were hoping to produce another strong performance to reach the semi-finals.

The defeat also marked the end of Malaysia’s challenge in the tournament.

Aaron-Khai Xing will next head to France to compete in the Orleans Masters, which begins next Tuesday. They will face Russia’s Rodion Alimov-Maksim Ogloblin in the first round.
