PM urges public to trust authorities in religious provocation probe

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged the public to allow authorities to conduct a full and impartial investigation into recent allegations of religious provocation.
Expressing his confidence in the process, Anwar said the truth would be uncovered through a transparent and ongoing investigation.
“The MADANI government will ensure that justice is upheld and national peace is maintained,” he said in a Facebook post today.
The prime minister also addressed claims that the government had failed to act regarding an incident involving a student who had stepped on the Quran, describing such accusations as baseless.
