KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will attend the Perikatan Nasional Supreme Council meeting tomorrow, which will decide on the coalition’s new chairman.

He said that Bersatu will remain committed to PN’s cause.

“I will attend the PN Supreme Council meeting tomorrow, which will decide on the appointment of the PN chairman as well as other matters related to strengthening and empowering PN,” he said in a statement today.

Muhyiddin added that Bersatu has formed a special task force to reorganise party divisions and wings affected by the resignation of their chiefs and committee members.

He said the task force will be jointly chaired by two vice-presidents, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

He added that Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali will serve as the secretariat of the special task force.

Muhyiddin said state leadership heads have also been instructed to identify the divisions involved.

“The restructuring of these divisions will involve acting appointments for division chiefs or the formation of new division committees in accordance with the party constitution.

“Party wings affected by the resignations will also be reorganised through acting appointments or the formation of new committees,” he said.

Muhyiddin also said he is confident that Bersatu has a strong pool of successors and active members in every division who are ready to shoulder the responsibility of strengthening the party.
