BUTTERWORTH: Penang Hospital, forensic pathologist Datuk Dr Zahari Noor has confirmed that there was slash wound on the neck of a woman, who was fatally attacked at her home in Flat Sri Murni, Sungai Dua, here today.

He said preliminary examinations found a single slash wound on the victim’s neck, believed to have been inflicted with a sharp weapon.

“There were no signs of a struggle, suggesting that the victim was likely attacked by someone she knew.

“We also believe the victim was assaulted from behind.

“However, a post-mortem examination will be conducted tonight to determine the exact cause of death,” he said when met at the scene.

The 41-year-old victim was discovered lying on a bed in one of the bedrooms with a slash wound to her neck.

State police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail when contacted said police are still gathering information.
