MELAKA: Police have dismantled two non-existent investment scam syndicates operating through call centre tactics targeting victims in China.

State police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the syndicates were uncovered in two separate raids carried out within less than five hours yesterday.

He added that nine Chinese nationals aged between 27 and 44 were arrested for their alleged involvement in the fake investment scams during the raids.

The first raid took place at around 4pm at an apartment in Taman Kota Laksamana, believed to be the syndicate’s operational centre.

“Two men were detained, and police also seized several items, including two laptops, four mobile phones estimated to be worth RM15,000, RM2,022 in cash, and two sets of travel documents.
