Five abuse reports at Saujana Utama kindergarten, two detained

SUNGAI BULOH: Police received five reports concerning the alleged assault of four children at a kindergarten in Saujana Utama yesterday.

Following the complaints, two women, believed to be caregivers at the premises, were detained today to assist with the investigation.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said the incident was believed to have occurred between July and August last year, involving children aged five to seven.

A video recording has also been obtained as evidence.

“The two women detained are currently remanded for five days. The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(A) of the Child Act 2001. Another person will be called in for questioning,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier, a social media user shared a post claiming to have video evidence showing her child being allegedly abused at a Saujana Utama kindergarten. The post also claimed to have footage of other children being mistreated.

The video shows a young girl being roughly handled by a woman while being fed, reportedly at the kindergarten. According to the post, the incident involved the child of the user’s friend.
