PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Azam Baki has denied claims by activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was “sitting” on a “ledger” of alleged bribes paid to Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) personnel.
The MACC chief commissioner told the New Straits Times that the activist, known as Chegubard, only sent a link of one of his Facebook posts to an investigator.
“The post cannot be considered evidence as the document is not complete and has several details redacted.
“He never provided any copy of the ledger, be it in physical or digital form directly to us.
“What he is trying to do is mislead the public by creating a negative perception that the MACC is not doing its job,” he said.

On Friday, Badrul Hisham claimed to be in possession of an “expenditure ledger” obtained from a defence contractor that allegedly made payments to air force personnel.
The payments included monthly allowances, funding for overseas courses and personal expenses.
Badrul Hisham claimed that the personal expenses included golf club membership fees and overseas travel costs, while the monthly payments were between RM10,000 and RM15,000.
He also claimed that the documents had been submitted to the MACC but no action had been taken, prompting him to go public.
