Two killed after being flung off SPE highway in trailer crash

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men were killed after their trailer crashed into a concrete barrier on the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE), causing them to be flung off the highway.
The victims, a driver and a co-driver, both local men, were confirmed dead at the scene by Health Ministry paramedics.
The accident occurred near the Ceramic Pro factory off Jalan Chan Sow Lin at 8.55pm.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Operations Centre dispatched nine personnel from the Pudu station to the scene following an emergency call.
Operations Commander Nur Zahela Mohamad Zainal said the trailer had crashed into a concrete divider, resulting in the two men being thrown from the elevated highway to the ground below.
“The team completed the recovery of the bodies and handed them over to the police for further action,” she said in a statement last night.
