Two 13-year-olds held for kicking police motorcycle in Temerloh

KUANTAN – Police have arrested two 13-year-old boys for allegedly kicking a Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) motorcycle, injuring an officer along Jalan Tengku Ismail in Temerloh early this morning.
Temerloh police chief ACP Mohd Nasyim Bahron said in the 1.30 am incident, the 23-year-old officer and his colleague were patrolling the area when they spotted a suspicious black motorcycle without a licence plate ridden by two males.
“When the officers moved in to check, the motorcycle sped off, leading to a chase. During the pursuit, the rider kicked the police motorcycle, causing the officer to fall,” he said in a statement.
The suspects fled the scene, while the injured officer was taken to Temerloh Hospital for treatment to his right hand and leg. Both teenagers were arrested at 2.30 pm and police also seized a black motorcycle.
Mohd Nasyim said the case is being investigated under Section 353 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty, which carries a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.
