Sabah BN confident of Pakatan Harapan support in clashes with GRS
KOTA KINABALU, Oct 14 — In the event of a tussle for government between the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition and Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN), the latter is banking on Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) support, citing their partnership at the federal level as a foundation for continued cooperation in the state.
Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said that they hoped to get the same support that Umno had given them after the last general election in 2022 (GE15).
“Hopefully they will support us because we support them at the federal level. We helped Pakatan Harapan — we gave them 30 seats. GRS only has six.
“So I think they should know which is bigger and which is smaller.,” he said when speaking to reporters after chairing a Sabah Umno meeting here last night.
Bung was asked about PH’s alliance with the two political rivals which sees PH sitting in between the two rival coalitions.

He acknowledged the complicated nature of the triangle and said while it muddied circumstances, he was confident there would be resolution when the time and need come.
“This Sabah state election is certainly dynamic, and that dynamism may create some complications. So, we’ll just wait and see — if the situation requires it, we’ll do what’s best for the party,” he said.
Bung also said that the recent exit of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku and Sabah Progressive Party recently was because GRS was facing a confidence crisis amongst themselves.
“Even before the election, they are already split despite not being around for very long, this happened because of a crisis of confidence among its own members. More importantly, the people’s confidence in the GRS government has completely eroded,” said Bung.
He said the loss of trust stems from GRS’s failure to manage Sabah’s issues — its economy, its people’s future, and other important matters.
