KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Chan Abdullah, the founder of popular Chinese-Muslim restaurant chain Mohd Chan, was laid to rest at the Bukit Kiara 2 Muslim cemetery at 1.30pm today.

Mohd Chan, 72, passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital last night.

The restaurants became popular among a diverse, multi-ethnic clientele for their halal Cantonese cuisine, such as roasted duck, dim sum, wantan noodles, and a variety of other Chinese-style dishes.

The restaurant chain, first established in 2007, now operates 18 branches, primarily located in the Klang Valley.

Separately, Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) chief commissioner Aminurrahim Mohamed, offered his condolences to Mohd Chan’s family.
