PAS info chief to issue letters of demand to MP, youth leader

PETALING JAYA: PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari is preparing letters of demand to be issued to an MP and a youth leader.
In a brief Facebook post, Fadhli said he had gathered enough material to proceed with legal action.
“The LoDs to be issued are for the accusations levelled against me based on the misinterpretation of a Facebook post,” he said, referring to comments he had made on the Thailand-Cambodia conflict.
“There are more (LoDs) to come.”
He did not name the MP or youth leader in question.

Fadhli, the Pasir Mas MP, had refused to apologise over a now-deleted social media post featuring a cartoon which appeared to belittle Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s role in mediating the Thailand-Cambodia conflict.
The cartoon had depicted a monkey acting as a judge between a goat and a sheep fighting over bananas, with the caption: “The goat and sheep shouldn’t need a monkey to mediate their banana dispute.”
Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan and PKR Youth chief Kamil Munim had demanded that Fadhli apologise to the people of Cambodia and Thailand over the posting.
Several Pakatan Harapan MPs also lodged police reports on the matter at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
PAS vice-president Amar Abdullah had sought to play down criticism of Fadhli’s post.

He told FMT that the issue should not be blown out of proportion, especially since Fadhli deleted his Facebook post following public backlash.
A ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand took effect at midnight on Monday, ending five days of intense border fighting that left at least 38 people dead and displaced more than 300,000.
The agreement was reached after Malaysia, as Asean chair, along with the US and China, brought both sides to the table for peace talks in Putrajaya on Monday.
